OUR HISTORY
Crystal Lake Middle School opened in 1965 in the Combee Settlement area of Lakeland, FL. Originally named Crystal Lake Junior High, our mascot is the Mighty Mustang.
One of our many notable alumni includes NFL player Wayne Peace. He graduated from CLMS in 1976 and is still active in the football community here in Lakeland. The current Deputy Superintendent of Polk County Schools, Mr. John Hill, started his teaching career at CLMS.
We are blessed to serve around 950 students annually. Our students make up a very diverse population and are full of life and personality. There is never a dull moment!
